Prince Eke - “I Do Not Blame Nigerians that Said My Kidnap was a Publicity Stunt

Earlier this week, celebrity couple, Prince Eke and his wife, Muma G celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary and Prince Eke is exceptionally happy not only because of the anniversary but because he was released by his abductors who kidnapped him some days ago

In an exclusive chat with Saturday Beats, the actor said he was grateful to God that He saved him from the daredevil kidnappers. And that he doesn't blame Nigerians that said his kidnap was a publicity stunt.

He said:

“I was returning from Asaba where I went for a movie shoot and I was ambushed. Three guys just jumped out of the bush brandishing AK47 in their hands. They began to shoot sporadically and I tried to reverse but I saw two men with guns behind my car. From there, they took me into a forest at gun point. I never got out of that forest until the day I was released.
“There was a day I tried to escape but I was recaptured. I was abducted on a Saturday and as at Monday, my abductors had not allowed me to talk to my wife. A lot of things went through my mind because based on what I have heard about kidnapping, the kidnappers usually call the family of their victim to demand for ransom. In my case these men were silent and whenever they spoke, it was in a low tone so that I wouldn’t hear them. I thought I would be assassinated so I decided to take my chances. I told the kidnappers that the chain they bound me with was too tight and it was inflicting injury on me. One of them was ordered to loosen it for me and as he unlocked the padlock used to chain me, I pushed him off and ran into the bush. That was when I realised the forest was so big and because it was late in the night, I had to climb a tree. While I was running, the kidnappers shot at me. It is by the grace of God that I am alive because they shot at me with a pump action gun. That gun does not just release bullets; it fires pellets as well which could harm someone.

“Although they shot at me twice, I was unharmed. While I was on the top of the tree, as I was trying to position myself very well, I broke a dry tree branch and this made my abductors locate me. They pointed their gun at me and ordered me to descend from the tree. That night, they beat me blue black. They used their rifles to beat me and they broke my tooth in the process. They beat me for over three hours.”
He told Saturday Beats that all the while he was in captivity, his abductors fed him with either bread and water or rice.
“They fed me with bread and water or rice without meat in a nylon bag. I was very scared and thought I would be killed. On Monday, some of the kidnappers suggested that they should kill me while the others said that they should shoot my leg. The leader of the gang said that they should leave me but if I try to escape again they should kill me. This is an experience I don’t wish my enemy because those boys were drug addicts and they were smoking Indian hemp from morning till night. I was very scared but I had faith in God that I would not die in the forest. While I was in that forest, I had an encounter with God. This encounter manifested the love God has for me. It is my duty to serve Him in truth and in spirit all the rest of my life,” Eke said.
When the news broke about his kidnap, some online commentators felt it was a publicity stunt. When asked, Prince Eke, said that he would never fake such an incident.

The actor said:
“I do not blame people that said my kidnap was a publicity stunt. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I do not wish anyone to go through what I went through. We celebrities have many ways of being relevant but I cannot go through such length just to be in the news. Those that say that my kidnap was stage-managed, I leave them to their opinion. I thank my wife and my brothers and sister for their tremendous help that got me out.”
