Garry Shandling Died From a Heart Attack Despite Good Health, Doctors Believe

New details have emerged in the death of Garry Shandling.
A day after the 66-year-old legendary comedian passed away, his rep confirms to E! News that the star's doctors believe he died from a heart attack.

At the time of his unexpected death, Shandling had no history of heart problems and was not suffering from any illness. He was considered healthy and was speaking to people the morning before he died.
According to the coroner's office, an autopsy will not be performed. Instead, doctors will determine the official cause of death.
The It's Garry Shandling's Show creator was rushed to Providence Saint John's Health Center Thursday in the late morning after the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a medical emergency at Shandling's listed address. While he was alive at the time of the ambulance transport, he passed away at the hospital.

Countless comedians have flocked to social media and their own late-night shows to pay their respects to the man who influenced their careers.
"In the next few days, and probably weeks, you're going to be hearing a lot and reading a lot about Garry Shandling the comedian, and you're going to hear that he was supremely innovative and intelligent. You're going to hear that he is revered by everyone in comedy, and that is all true—100 percent true. He was a masterful writer, a performer who went on to create incredibly groundbreaking comedy shows that inspired an entire generation of comedians, myself included," Conan O'Brien said of the late star on Conan just a few hours after the news broke,
"Right now I'm not thinking about that aspect of Garry Shandling; I'm thinking about Garry Shandling the person...He was obviously hysterically funny, pretty much all the time, but he was also extremely sensitive, he was complicated, and he had a ton of empathy for other people. I want to make that point. That is something in this business, in comedy, that is very rare. He really did care about other people."
While his tragic passed was unexpected to family, friends and fans alike, the star will make one final screen appearance in The Jungle Book movie, which is set to premiere on April 4th, hitting theaters on April 15th.
