OLEH—NO fewer than 72 cultists have renounced membership of their cult groups at Ibrede community, Ndokwa East Local Government Area, Delta State.
The cult renunciation exercise which was witnessed by the police, members of the community’s vigilante team, Anti-Cult Volunteer Corp and the leadership of the community, coincided with the Ibrede Prayer/Praise Day tagged “Victory in the Blood of Jesus Christ.”
President General of Ibrede community, Mr. Finbarrs Onomerike, in his remarks during the exercise, reiterated the resolve of the people to wipe out cultism from the area.
He commended the repented cultists for their decision to voluntarily renounce membership of their various cult groups, saying they had “chosen to move from darkness to light.”
Onomerike warned that the cultists who failed to renounce their cult memberships “due to shyness or otherwise” would incur the wrath of the law if found to be indulging in cult activities in the community.

On his part, the President, Anti-Cult Volunteer Corp, Mr. Austin Emuamaka, thanked the leadership of the community for assisting in hosting the event, advising the repentant cultists to remain positive in all their endeavours so as to create a peaceful environment that would pave the way for the much needed development of the community.
In his homily during the prayer and praise session, the guest speaker, Ven. Robert Oziwele, said God had decided to liberate the community from the hands of criminals and wicked elements.
